Painting with Purpose: IMPACT and Georgia Works Join Forces in Sweet Auburn

Doing work that matters means stepping up for our communities.

At IMPACT, we believe doing work that matters means stepping up for our communities—not just as project managers, but as partners, neighbors, and advocates. That’s why we’re proud to support the renovation of Georgia Works’ new facility in the historic Odd Fellows Tower, right in the heart of Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn district.

Georgia Works is a nonprofit dedicated to helping chronically homeless men overcome addiction, secure employment, and build independent, self-sufficient lives. Their mission resonates deeply with our own values: investing in people, leading with purpose, and making a lasting impact.

Participants included: Caroline Akin, Cleo Graham, David C. Ramos, Evan Yates, Maggie Harney, Maya Jackson, Nicole Prettyman, and Ava Golightly (the  daughter of Kendall Golightly).

Revitalizing a Historic Landmark

As the project manager overseeing the renovation, we’re helping bring new life to a building rich in history and meaning. The Odd Fellows Tower is not only part of the Sweet Auburn National Historic Landmark District—it’s a symbol of resilience and progress. Through this renovation, it will also become a place of transformation for the men served by Georgia Works.

With support from Invest Atlanta and other partners, the space will house administrative offices and program areas that continue Georgia Works’ mission of empowerment, recovery, and reintegration.

Rolling Up Our Sleeves

Our role goes far beyond coordinating schedules and budgets. Recently, our team spent a day on-site, painting and prepping rooms to help get the facility one step closer to opening. It was a hands-on reminder that the work we do has real-world impact—and that our commitment to community is more than just words on paper.

The day was filled with paint-splattered laughter, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose. We left tired, a little sore, and incredibly proud to be contributing to something that will change lives.

Aligned in Mission

We’re honored to partner with an organization like Georgia Works—one that uplifts others with integrity, compassion, and a clear sense of mission. Their success stories are powerful, and their outcomes are measurable: over 1,000 men have graduated from the program and gone on to live independently.

The Work Continues

We’re still hard at work managing the next phases of the renovation, from exterior improvements to interior fit-out. Together, with Georgia Works and our extended project team, we’re building more than just a facility—we’re building opportunity.
