Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Second Title

IMPACT served as the Developer’s Representative and Project Manager for the $1.6 billion, 71,000-seat Mercedes-Benz Stadium with scope including the demolition and redevelopment of the Georgia Dome. The two million-square-foot multifunctional facility features 360-degree city views through ETFE fabric and an iconic multi-piece mechanized roof, allowing for both indoor and outdoor events, including those for the NFL, FIFA, NCAA, MLS, major international friendlies, Copa America, high school sports and graduations, monster trucks, internationally acclaimed touring acts, major corporate events, and thousands of private events. A revolutionary 360-degree “halo” scoreboard is integrated into the roof structure, allowing for more creative content without impeding sightlines.

An elevated, activated plaza structure serves as a pedestrian thoroughfare and large welcoming area, connecting the stadium with the viaduct street level, the Falcons Landing International Plaza, and the adjacent parking. A pedestrian bridge connects the parking deck with the stadium concourse level, a 1.2-million-gallon underground detention vault, a 680,000-gallon above-grade rainwater cistern, site retaining walls, and crash-tested high-speed vehicular barriers, creating a secure zone around the stadium.

North America’s first professional sports stadium to achieve LEED Platinum certification, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is an iconic landmark for the City of Atlanta and the State of Georgia, embracing many sustainable design, construction, and operational features.
