We’re thrilled that IMPACT Development Management is staying in Cobb County and will remain our neighbor. When we were redoing our space, we found it was critical to hire an expert to oversee the entire project and handle all the time-consuming details. IMPACT enabled us to continue focusing on our mission instead of all the many complex details of the project.

Akins Ford Arena
Second Title
The Akins Ford Arena can transform for any occasion, from concerts and sports tournaments to banquets and general sessions. The new arena aims to elevate the Classic Center campus to become a regional destination for music, sports, entertainment, and other events, with 5,500 permanent seats and the ability to host up to 9,000.
The venue will provide a new option for downtown concerts, conventions, tournaments, and other events and serve as a larger arena for the University of Georgia Club Hockey team. The FPHL expanded to Athens, and the new pro hockey franchise, The Rock Lobsters, will call the arena home.
The $151 million arena ($33 million funded via SPLOST funds) joins the adjacent multi-use Classic Center, a complex with a performing arts theater, conference center, and outdoor pavilion for weddings, concerts, and sports. The arena is targeting LEED Silver Certification.
