President and Co-Founder, IDP
John cofounded Impact Development Partners (IDP) in 2021 to develop multifamily assets throughout the Southeastern United States and serves as its President overseeing all aspects of company operations. Prior to forming IDP, John was Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Gables Residential where he directed Gables’ investment efforts nationally including over $1.3 Billion in active development at any one time. Prior to joining Gables, he was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer at the Flournoy Companies. Before Flournoy, John was a Senior Vice President at Carter where he was a leader of multifamily investment and development efforts and has also served as the Senior Vice President of Development and Investments at Novare Group. In his real estate career, John has overseen the financing, development, and acquisition of over $4 Billion worth of multifamily and mixed-use projects totaling more than 13,000 units. Previously, John worked as a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and a Senior Consultant for Ernst & Young. He is active in the National Multifamily Housing Council, the ULI Multifamily Platinum Council, and served on the NAHB Multifamily Board and the board of the Fort McPherson Redevelopment Authority. John received a BBA from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Duke University where he was a Fuqua Scholar.
