MARCUS VESS
Senior Vice President
Entering a sluggish job market in 1981 after earning a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from North Carolina State University, Marcus Vess learned first-hand what it meant to be resilient. Decades later, his leadership style and approachable manner set him apart as an incredible team leader and guidepost for our project management staff. As Senior Vice President, his strategy-focused mindset and career expertise act as a resource for our firm as he excels at facilitating high-level project coordination and team alignment, resulting in improved collaboration and creative problem solving across the board.
Marcus’ career spans nearly three decades, where he spent time in planning, design, and construction of facilities improvement projects. He is an experienced director of large-scale capital projects and programs and is credited with delivering projects with a combined value of more than $1 billion. His unique understanding of the challenges our clients face stems from his time serving on the Campus Planning Staffs at Emory University, Georgia State University, and The University of North Carolina at Asheville. There, he was instrumental in the development of campus master plans and management of various design and construction projects.
He is the founder of the Providence Leadership Institute, has served as a Board Member and Chairman of the Long-Range Planning Committee for Providence Christian Academy, and is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Frazer Center.
